Schaefer wrote and directed “Catcher in the Rye,” a film that chronicles Chapman’s time spent waiting outside Dakota’s apartment to kill John Lennon. Starring Lindsay Lohan as Jude (an avid Beatles fan Chapman meets while passing time) as well as Judah Friedlander (“30 Rock,” “Zoolander”) who plays Paul (a paparazzi Chapman encounters), with “Catcher in the Rye” being referenced here as well.
