George’s

George’s Pizza is an unassuming counter-service shop with a big personality. Open late at night, they provide pizza by the slice, as well as gyros, wings, and pasta – and the food is consistently delicious and the staff friendly – making George’s an oasis of calm within an environment often marked by stress and fast pace.

George’s Family Restaurant has been providing its community with family-style food for over 25 years. Owners Kitsa and Evan moved from Greece with dreams of opening their own business after working hard and ultimately succeeding at opening two George’s locations, first in Hartford and then Stanhope Village, with both locations serving identical menus.

The pizza here is excellent, especially their sausage calzone! Their thick dough offers incredible value at such an economical price point. Service is friendly, but wait times can be lengthy – more seating would have helped immensely; nonetheless, food makes up for all this in spades!

Pizza and salads were delicious; however, I was dissatisfied with their pasta dishes due to being overly salty for my liking. Still, the food is worth every penny, and I know I will return soon enough!

My Pi

My Pi is an ideal place for pizza by the slice, offering Chicago deep-dish and tavern-style thin crust options as well as dine-in and takeout services with friendly staff and an inviting environment – not to mention being highly reviewed on Google!

My Pi is an iconic Chicago institution and an all-time local favorite, serving pizza made with high-quality artisan cheeses from Central Wisconsin dairies and an elegant sauce made with sweet, zesty San Marzano tomatoes. Their dough has a tender, slightly yeasty flavor with crispy edges for optimal crust quality – not to mention an ideal ratio between toppings and cheese!

My Pi’s pizzas are subtly sweet and made with fragrant herbs and spices for added depth of flavor. Their sausage is placed directly onto their pizzas instead of being cut before baking – giving the dish a more substantial texture that enhances its overall taste!

My Pi was founded by Larry Aronson in Chicago in 1969, eventually expanding to become a multistate franchise and eventually closing all Illinois locations except one. Today, My Pi pizzas can be found all across America – true pizza lovers should experience them!

Giordano’s

Giordano’s Pizza Parlor in Chicago is an iconic establishment serving classic pizza with an inimitable flair. Their mouthwatering stuffed pizza delights both locals and visitors from around the globe alike; Giordano’s also provides tasty sandwiches and appetizers to satisfy every appetite!

Giordano’s was established in 1974 when Italian brothers Efren and Joseph Boglio brought their mother’s recipe from Italy to Chicago. Their signature stuffed pizza features layers of flakey dough layered with cheese that melts during baking; its distinctive top crust resembles a souffle, helping keep its filling of toppings and cheese moist and vibrant.

Giordano’s pizzas feature a rich, creamy texture thanks to Wisconsin Mozzarella, which is made especially for them by skilled cheese makers in Wisconsin, aged to perfection, and then freshly shredded daily for optimal melting results. Furthermore, special tomatoes from Mendocino County in California are used in Giordano’s recipes as well.

To make Giordano‘s stuffed pizza at home, begin by prepping the dough several days in advance and refrigerating it before you bake it. Additionally, it is crucial to use only fresh mozzarella that has not been dusted with cornstarch to prevent sticking; pre-shredded mozzarella may not melt as smoothly when heated during baking.
