Eitan Force, an Honors Student and Flag Football Team Captain, Died Wednesday

Metro Atlanta high school student Eitan Force died while participating in a game he loved: football. Force, an honors student and captain of his team, experienced a medical emergency during senior night football at school he loved playing on Wednesday, according to family-placed obituaries from friends and loved ones. Additionally, he enjoyed music and traveling.

He attended The Weber School, a private Jewish community high school in Sandy Springs that has since canceled classes on Thursday due to this tragedy.

Why Weber?

Georgia high school student Eitan Force died after experiencing a medical emergency while playing flag football with his peers at The Weber School, a private Jewish community high school located in Atlanta’s Sandy Springs neighborhood, according to WGCL-TV reports. His heart stopped beating during a game Wednesday afternoon; according to his principal’s statement addressed to both students and parents, he was described as having “an incredible spirit with whom it was hard to share the field – an honors student and captain of our football team who served as both leader and role model among us all.”

After the tragic passing of their senior class member, their school is in mourning and working closely with local rabbis and mental health resources to provide counseling services for the entire community. Their thoughts and prayers go out to his family; “our thoughts and prayers are with him,” according to Laura, who says her son was an outgoing, happy boy who enjoyed playing sports and spending time with friends. Laura describes him as a kind-hearted young man who cared deeply for those he met – qualities which she says would tell their son perfectly.

Weber State College is a small, affordable option with plenty of opportunities, perfect for students transitioning from high school into college or undecided about their major. Offering education comparable to many of the more prominent universities at an unbeatably reasonable cost. Weber State’s excellent program of study also makes for a seamless transition from secondary to postsecondary school studies or transition into significant research.

Teachers and staff at the university are amiable, caring, and eager to see you succeed. The learning atmosphere is lively and engaging, and there are numerous clubs and activities you can join so as to meet new people.

Since attending Weber for two years now, my experience has been truly fantastic! Not only is the tuition very reasonable and the faculty caring about students, but I also took advantage of scholarships and financial aid, so it hasn’t been too costly. There’s so much fun stuff to do here, such as snow skiing, hiking, rock climbing, and biking, along with jobs both on campus and off.
