Style 38

Dresser Style 38 couplings provide absolutely tight joints with minimal effort and allow salvage of random lengths of cast iron from which bell ends or cracked sections have been removed – saving money while making curves possible with straight pipe lengths and eliminating costly threading, beveling or pipe fitting costs. Plus, their resilient Buna S gaskets absorb vibration for fast installation with absolute reliability!

Available standard up to 24″, these couplings come equipped with gaskets pre-installed for simple warehousing and ship ready-to-use with steel-to-steel connections or CI-to-CI connections, including pre-insulated middle rings that feature an insulating sleeve and sliding pipe end spacer to prevent contact between central and outer rings. Insulated versions also feature an insulated medium ring body and sliding pipe-end spacer to help avoid contact between middle and outer rings, preventing contact between middle rings, which is – another added advantage that makes storage simpler!

Style 90

A style 90 universal coupling stands out from other couplings with its armored gasket, making it very popular in gas applications. While its components remain the same as any regular coupling, additional locking rings restrain axial movement while jaws grip onto pipes to stop pulling out. So, although more robust than style 38 couplings, installation remains fairly straightforward: measure your pipe, subtract an inch, add this coupling, install a retainer cup with a gasket in, slide on the retainer cup with the retainer cup on, add gasket in before final installation of nut.

440s have the advantage of being tuned to A440 Hz, the standard tuning frequency used by most instruments and electronic tuners.
