Dr Shuvanan Ray – Cardiothoracic Surgeon

During his years in India, Dr Shuvanan Ray‘s research interests focused on various areas of cancer treatment. He studied the effects of different medications on a patient’s immune system and the impact of certain drugs on cancer cells. He also conducted many studies on patients’ behavior and cancer-related psychological issues. He has published numerous scientific articles and is a member of the American Association for Cancer Research (AACR).

Experience

Located in Anandapur in Kolkata, Dr. Shuvanan Ray is a cardiothoracic surgeon whose forte is complex coronary intervention. With over 20 years of experience in the field, he is a well-rounded professional with a keen eye for detail and a knack for patient care. He is also a member of the West Bengal Medical Council.

He has been involved in several clinical trials and research studies that have led to developing new therapies and technologies. He is currently affiliated with Fortis Hospital in Anandapur. He has received numerous awards for his achievements, including the prestigious “best cardiologist” accolade in eastern India. He is also a proud member of the American Heart Association. His specialties include coronary artery bypass surgery, percutaneous balloon valvotomy, coronary artery bypass grafting, and complex coronary interventions. He is also a member of the European Society of Cardiology, the Indian Heart Association, and the International Society of Hypertension.

Research interests

Having a 26-year of experience in Interventional Cardiology, Dr. Shuvanan Ray is currently attached to Fortis Hospital in Anandapur, Kolkata. He has worked with some of the world’s top institutes of excellence in interventional cardiology and heart surgery. His expertise is in complex interventions such as Carotid Angioplasty, Pacemaker Implantation, Chest Pain Treatment, Bifurcator Surgery, and Left main Rotablator procedures.

His research interests include developing new technologies for health care. He has published in leading journals and has received many awards for his work. He has also been awarded the Alexander von Humboldt Fellowship. His lab has developed genetically engineered human serum albumin, nano-formulation of oral Amphotericin B, and nano-adjuvant for a single-shot booster-free vaccine. He has also worked in the area of community health care.

He is a member of the American Association of Immunologists, the Clinical Immunology Society, the American Society for Microbiology, and the New York Academy of Sciences. He has studied the immune mechanisms of infectious, inflammatory, and human autoimmune diseases.
