How is Prosecco Made?

Prosecco is produced by a secondary fermentation method that uses sugar and yeast in a stainless steel tank. During this process, the sugar turns into CO2, which causes the tank to pressurize and carbonate the wine. This method is more cost-effective than the traditional method and allows for much faster production. However, the process takes anywhere from three to 15 months.
